“Looking back at a tragic event that occurred during his 13th year, Frank Drum explores how a complicated web of secrets, adultery and betrayal shattered his Methodist family and their small 1961 Minnesota town. Since 1905 Macy’s has been feeding the shopping population. You’ll find regional favorites and outstanding traditional classics. Happy Hour offers great food—fabulous appetizers, wine and beer from $3-$5. You can actually hear people talking to one another–no loud music! And, a round table too. Come even if you have not read this great book.

COMING UP
NIGHT-TIME BOOK TALK: Monday, September 19th, 7:00PM— Byerly’s Mezzanine
Hazelton and France Ave.
This group is taking a break for the summer. Discussions will resume in September and continue ever other month.
“Plainsong” by Kent Haruf. “From simple elements, Haruf achieves a novel of wisdom and grace – a narrative that builds in strength and feeling until, as in a choral chant, the voices in the book surround, transport, and lift the reader off the ground.”
Beer and wine are available on the mezzanine level and you may purchase snacks from the grocery store. Please to come even if you haven’t read the book. This is our second meeting and we will determine a schedule for future meetings; we are planning on meeting every other month.
RSVP by Saturday, September 17th to Sara at Sara5217@aol.com
